The Surgical Scrub Technician II works under the direct supervision of the registered nursing staff, the physician/surgeon, and the anesthesia team to serve as the primary scrub person. The role involves handling surgical instruments, supplies, and necessary equipment during endoscopic and surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the physician/surgeon to ensure safe, quality patient care. The technician may assist in endoscopic, manometric, and diagnostic procedures (such as PH Probe, Bravo PH, PillCam) and assist in OB procedures, select and set up appropriate equipment in the Procedure Center/OR, precept new technicians and students when appropriate, and take emergency on-call duties.
