Job summary

University Surgery Center is seeking a part-time Surgical Scrub Tech to support the operating room team in maintaining a sterile field and assisting the circulating nurse during procedures. The role requires attentiveness to sterility, proper count protocols, and collaboration with the surgical team.

Salary ranges from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, with competitive benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures in an operating room.

Responsibilities

• Ensures sterility of all supplies and instruments during setup of surgical procedures.
• Assists circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
• Assists circulating nurse in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
• Responsible for sponge, needle, and instrument counts pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse.
• Retains specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with the surgeon.
• Follows Universal Precautions, hand hygiene, PPE, and safe practices to ensure safety.
• Operates within equipment and safety guidelines and cares for equipment.

Surgical Scrub Tech at University Surgery Center

Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room. Reporting Relationship: Reports to Clinical Director/Administrator

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Salary Range: $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
