Job summary

MedCadre in California is seeking a Surgical / Scrub Technologist to support the operating room team. You will prepare instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist surgeons during each case.

You will ensure instruments and supplies are available, perform instrument counts, and help with patient positioning and site preparation while upholding infection prevention standards. OR experience preferred; CST credential preferred/required as applicable.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current CST credential preferred/required as applicable.
• Operating room experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
• Set up and maintain the sterile field throughout surgery.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain workflow.
• Perform accurate counts of instruments, needles, sponges, and supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation.
• Handle specimens according to established procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room after procedures.
• Report equipment issues or supply shortages promptly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other team members.

The Surgical/Scrub Technologist ensures instruments and supplies are properly prepared and available to support safe and efficient patient care.
