Job Summary

Prepares the most time- and resource-efficient daily Operating Room schedules based on physician requests, history files, hospital admissions, emergent/add-on cases, cancellations, etc. Maintains the daily operation of the scheduling department using department-specific surgical scheduling software and procedures.

Requirements
  • Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college) in a specialized field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Cerner, IDX, and standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 coding.
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and effective communication skills.
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Customer service orientation.
