Job Details

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of all patients.

Job Description

The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for all surgical scheduling duties for the OMFS Navy Yard office. They will:

1. Accumulate, investigate, and provide accurate, timely patient insurance information to the OMFS office(s), professional billing office(s), and hospital offices prior to the completion of inpatient/outpatient surgeries.
2. Handle and investigate all OMFS bills related to OR cases and other outside sources.
3. Interact and communicate primarily with professional billing personnel and the OMFS Financial Coordinator.
4. Work with patients and their families in a compassionate and tactful manner, before, during, and after procedures/surgeries to ensure continuity of care.
