Job Details

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of all patients.

Job Description

  1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  2. Collects and reviews patient insurance information, including obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information, ensuring all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.
  3. Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
  4. Provides patients with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
  5. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
  6. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
