Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II for the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic Platform in Milpitas, CA. The role involves electro‑mechanical assembly of robotic modules, adherence to ISO 13485 and GDP, and collaboration with the Surgical Robotics Manufacturing team.

You will work in a structured production line with regular shifts, supporting line clearance, calibration, and continuous improvement while documenting outcomes in MES/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly within medical devices or regulated industries.
• Hands‑on experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and regulated environments.
• Proficiency in assembly tools: torque wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, multimeters, presses.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate level electro‑mechanical assembly of robotic system modules using engineering documentation and work instructions.
• Operate in a structured production line to meet daily build targets while maintaining ISO 13485, FDA QSR, GDP compliance.
• Interpret and apply assembly procedures to build, verify, and validate components across product modules.
• Conduct functional, electrical, and mechanical tests using calibrated tools and fixtures.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic electrical/mechanical issues and escalate complex problems to engineering.
• Perform minor repairs to support production continuity and escalate when needed.
• Maintain ESD controls and clean manufacturing protocols per medical device standards.
• Document production activities and test outcomes in MES, ERP/SAP, and GDP-compliant systems.
• Assist in process updates by providing feedback on assembly sequences and tools.
• Support manufacturing engineering on line setup, fixtures validation, and NPI builds.
• Provide training and guidance for new technicians.
