Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical/4 West unit. You will deliver patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and participate in a supportive nursing organization.

The 36-hour night schedule with every other weekend/holiday, and opportunities for growth, certifications, and development, supporting a mission-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS).
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred).
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty areas may require specific certifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.
