NORTHWEST TEXAS HEALTHCARE SYSTEM in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for Surgery. This full-time day shift role provides safe, competent nursing care and professional leadership to the healthcare team within a patient-centered care framework.

Required: RN program graduate, Texas license, BLS and ACLS within specified times; PALS preferred. The hospital offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits as part of UHS family.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire and maintain certification.
• PALS, preferred.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; does not require maintaining.
• Ongoing demonstration of clinically pertinent competencies as determined by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care using the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education.
• Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
• Assess risks to patient safety and implement appropriate precautions.
• Complies with organization and accrediting standards.
• Complies with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.
• The concepts of patient centered care delivery model guide all nursing care.

Education

Graduate of an accredited RN program
