Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an OR Radiographer to perform radiologic procedures under medical direction, including intraoperative imaging and fluoroscopy in surgical settings across NMH facilities. The role requires a strong commitment to patient care, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Positions include a rotating schedule with weekends/holidays and an on-call component; after orientation, hours follow a standard 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Monday–Friday pattern with rotation

Qualifications

• State of Illinois license (IDNS) required.
• ARRT certification required.
• CPR Certification (BLS) required.
• Graduate of an accredited school/college of Radiologic Technology required.
• Preferred: Baccalaureate degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the request for radiographic service and assesses patient to determine procedure protocol.
• Performs imaging procedures under the medical direction of an attending radiologist.
• Documents imaging procedures manually and/or electronically for charging and file tracking.
• Employs imaging systems, accessories, and patient positioning to generate and store images.
• Cares for patient during procedure per department/hospital standards and assists with patient transport.
• Provides patient education before, during, and after the procedure.
• Reviews and evaluates own and peer images for quality comparison.
• Assists Senior Technologist and Resource Coordinator in daily operational issues.
• Assists with flexing schedule of personnel as necessary based on complexity and patient volume.
• Monitors stock of supplies and maintains a clean, orderly imaging environment.
• Reports equipment failures or irregularities to supervision/quality control.
• Acts as a role model promoting NMH 'Patients First' mission and safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains quality management by ensuring high-quality imaging with productivity and service.

Education

State of Illinois license (IDNS)

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

CPR Certification (BLS)
