Job summary

Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY seeks a full-time, board-certified Physician Assistant to join its Surgical APP team. Responsibilities include OR first assisting, rounding on inpatients, and performing consults/admissions with a team-based approach.

The role requires NCCPA certification or NP licensure, BLS/ACLS, and NYS licensure. Night/weekend coverage is part of the schedule, with a four-day work week described.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification or Nurse Practitioner licensure required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Current NYS license to practice as a Physician Assistant or NP required.

Responsibilities

• OR First Assist in the OR.
• In-house shift managing surgical floor patients (Urology, Gyn-Oncology).
• Perform history and physicals for consults/admissions.
• Consult with attending, nursing staff, and other providers on care plan.
• Night coverage: on call from home, first assist emergent OR cases.
