Spine Medicine & Surgery of Long Island seeks a Surgical Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing team across multiple NY locations (Ronkonkoma, Garden City, Huntington, Jamaica Estates).

The ideal candidate has a background in orthopedics, neurosurgery, or a related field, with at least 1 year as a Surgical PA. You will serve as first assist in spinal procedures, perform inpatient rounds, coordinate care plans, and maintain EMR documentation, while traveling between sites.

Qualificações

• PA-C certification is required.
• Active New York State Physician Assistant license.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant (spine/orthopedics/neurosurgery preferred).
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilidades

• Complete initial patient histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
• Serve as first assist in spinal surgeries, including cervical and lumbar fusions.
• Develop, document, and communicate patient care plans; ensure follow-through on all aspects of care.
• Perform inpatient rounds and evaluate inpatient and ER consults.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory work, and spinal imaging.
• Perform in-office procedures such as trigger-point and joint injections.
• Collaborate closely with attending physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Surgical Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our dynamic clinical and surgical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopedics, neurosurgery, or a related specialty, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our physicians in both clinical and surgical settings, including serving as a first assist in spinal procedures.
