Job summary

Torrance Surgical Alliance seeks a strong Physician Assistant to join our team in Torrance, CA. You will work with a small group of surgeons and PAs, assisting in the clinic setting before and after surgery, with opportunities to participate in surgical cases.

The role involves patient care from consults to follow-ups, on-call duties, and potential operating room involvement at ASC and hospitals. California PA-C license, board certification, and EMR experience are required or a plus.

Qualifications

• Active PA-C California license required at time of application.
• Applicant must be board certified and have active or eligible for NPI and DEA numbers.
• Bariatric surgery experience is a plus.
• Excellent assessment and clinical skills.
• Proven time management, organizational and follow-up skills.
• Experience with EMR software (Practice Fusion, HST) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• See patients at initial consult, preop, postop and follow-up visits, including hospital rounding and on-call duties.
• Handle on-call patient phone questions.
• Perform clinic procedures (suture removals, drain pulls, minor wound care).
• Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation.
• Manage the medical team and participate in meetings to support practice growth.
• Contribute to operating room cases at ASC and hospitals when needed.
• Ensure a friendly, warm, outstanding patient experience.

Job description

State of the Art Bariatric and Hernia Institute in conjunction with affiliated Ambulatory Surgery Center in Torrance, CA, is seeking a strong, well qualified Physician Assistant to join our team.

The PAs will be working with a small group of surgeons and PAs, and at the direction of the surgeon to assist in the clinic setting before and after surgery, with opportunities to participate in surgical cases. They will provide care, recommendations, testing, and set up outpatient services related to patient care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• See patients at the initial consultation, preop, postop and follow up visits including rounding at the hospital and on call duties, occasionally before or after clinic hours.
• On call for patient phone calls with medical questions.
• Perform clinic procedures such as suture removals, drain pull, minor wound care.
• Maintain proper documentation and complete all appropriate medical record documentation requirements.
• Responsible for managing the medical team.
• Be detail oriented regarding patient care, attend meetings and help out in whatever way is necessary to ensure the vitality and growth of the practice.
• Promote a friendly, warm and exceptional patient experience.
• Opportunities to assist surgeons (when needed) in the operating room at ASC and hospitals.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Commensurate with experience, range: $120,000.00- $140,000.00 /year
