Job description

Job Title: Academic Surgical Pathologist

The Department of Pathology at Montefiore Medical Center is seeking two full-time Academic Surgical Pathologists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join a team of 25 surgical pathologists. Candidates should have subspecialty fellowship training and/or 5+ years of experience in Genitourinary, Head and Neck/Thoracic, Gastrointestinal/Liver, or Breast pathology.

The division practices a hybrid model of subspecialty sign-out, combining two or more subspecialties. The department handles approximately 66,000 surgical pathology specimens annually.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical services in surgical pathology
  • Engage with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in residency training and medical student education
  • Collaborate on research opportunities
Qualifications:
  • Solid diagnostic skills
  • Enthusiasm for teaching
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Board Certified/Eligible in AP/CP or A/P
  • Ability to obtain a NY State Medical License
Compensation and Benefits:

Salary ranges from $250,000 to $375,000 depending on experience, with productivity incentives. Benefits include LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision, and a 403(b) plan.
