Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Surgical Pathologist to provide expert pathology consultation and leadership within a high-volume headquarters laboratory. You will assess frozen sections, biopsies, and cytology with integrated molecular data to guide therapy decisions.

Ideal candidates hold an MD or DO with board certification in Anatomic Pathology, and possess or soon hold a Florida license; fellowship in Surgical Pathology is strongly preferred. Relocation and a comprehensive benefits package are available.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required and board-certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology.
  • Fellowship in Surgical Pathology strongly preferred.
  • Active or eligible for unrestricted FL medical license; multi-state licensure a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform frozen section evaluations as needed.
  • Render expert gross and microscopic diagnoses with molecular/genetic data when appropriate.
  • Interpret biopsies and cytology with dictation and release of cases.
  • Participate in high-volume IHC interpretation focusing on therapy biomarkers (e.g., PD-L1, HER2).
  • Perform delegated medical director duties for anatomic and clinical laboratories.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain high standards of turnaround time, quality, and client service.
  • Build relationships with referring physicians and ensure excellent client follow-up.

Job Details

As a Surgical Pathologist you provide advice on pathology and laboratory matters and professional pathology and laboratory standards of practice.

Responsibilities
  • Perform frozen section evaluations, as needed
  • Render expert gross and/or microscopic diagnoses, incorporating advanced molecular or genetic information when appropriate
  • Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material to include gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation and electronic release of reviewed cases.
  • Participate in a high-volume IHC interpretation service in our Headquarters lab, with a focus on biomarkers that inform therapy selection (e.g. PD-L1, c-MET, HER2, ER, PR, MMR, FOLR1, Claudin)
  • Perform delegated medical director duties with regards to both anatomic and clinical laboratories
  • Participate in several functions involved in day-to-day operations, including case consultation sign out responsibilities and may interact with our clients for Pre-Analytical, Analytical, and Post-Analytical questions.
  • Read and interpret laboratory data.
  • Perform quality control and assurance procedures and participates in departmental professional quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to insure the highest standards of TAT, quality, and customer service are maintained.
  • Provide expertise and assistance to technologists and technicians to resolve case issues.
  • Build effective relationships with referring physicians and ensures excellent client follow-up.
Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O degree, and board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology (general or subspecialty) is strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of practice post-fellowship is strongly preferred.
  • Active, or eligibility for, unrestricted Medical License to practice in the state of FL
  • Additional state medical licensure in NY and TX is a plus.
  • Ability to fulfill CLIA ’88 if required
