Job summary

77 consultants seeks a Locum Physician Assistant to support the surgical team in a fast-paced, on-site contract role in Pequannock Township, NJ. The PA will assist in the OR, provide pre/postoperative care, and collaborate with attending surgeons to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited PA degree, an unrestricted license, and experience in general surgery; BLS/ACLS may be required on hire. This on-site position offers travel and expense coverage.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in PA studies or equivalent required.
• Active, unrestricted PA license in NJ or state of practice.
• PA with associate-level experience in general surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist attending surgeons in the operating room as first assistant for general and colorectal procedures.
• Perform comprehensive H&Ps and document findings.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with the surgical team.
• Order/interpret labs and imaging to guide care.
• Provide pre/postoperative care and wound management.
• Document encounters in EMR accurately.
• Respond to emergencies and provide surgical coverage as needed.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
