Job summary

SpecialtyCare is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to act as the First Assistant to surgeons across multiple specialties. You will perform complex surgical techniques as directed and support robotics-assisted procedures where required.

Qualifications

• Must hold certification/licensure as CSA, LSA, RNFA, PA‑C or NP.
• Previous surgical experience as a First Assistant.
• Ability to build and maintain business relationships and grow the business.
• Strong physician/surgeon relationship skills and team mentality.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work at multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Acts as First Assistant or Second Assistant to surgeon during surgical procedures, holding retractors, tying off vessels and tissues, repairing incisions and lacerations, cutting and cauterizing tissues, etc., as needed and as directed for a wide variety of surgical cases.
• All other specific tasks delegated by supervising physician in accordance to the incumbent’s knowledge and experience.
• Documents all procedures and/or services to patients on face sheets and processes face sheets for accurate billing.
• Shares on‑call responsibilities with the rest of the team as directed by team leader.
• Performs activities in accordance with established policies and protocols.
