Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies.
  • Current New York State Physician Assistant licensure.
  • NCCPA certification.
  • Previous surgical experience or strong interest in surgery.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-operative patient assessments, review of histories, order diagnostics, provide education and counseling.
  • Assist during surgeries with suturing, specimen collection, and site management.
  • Post-operative monitoring, pain management, complication handling, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and team to develop treatment plans for surgical patients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Educate patients on postoperative care, medications, activity restrictions, wound care, and warning signs.
