Job summary

SnapCare in Alamogordo, NM is seeking an RN for the operating room to work four 10-hour days. This full-time position supports a diverse surgical program including orthopedic, general, podiatry, GYN/OB with C-Sections, pain management, urology and endoscopy.

You will apply the nursing process with assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation, collaborate with staff and physicians, follow the five rights of medication administration, advocate for patients and maintain

Qualifications

• Active RN license in NM required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS (AHA) certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Care for surgical patients across Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB including C-Sections, Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy.
• Apply the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Consult with staff, physicians, and management to meet patient needs.
• Practice the five rights of medication administration.
• Act as patient advocate, including family involvement and confidentiality.
• Demonstrate efficient time management skills and teamwork.
