A Day in the Life

The Surgical Onsite Specialist (SOS) provides case support, customer support, training, education, and solution implementation assistance across Surgical Centers of Therapy (COTs). This role ensures seamless product utilization by assisting with procedures, addressing customer inquiries, performing equipment upgrades and maintenance, and leading training initiatives for physicians and staff within an assigned account, in partnership with the Surgical Account Manager (SAM). The SOS plays a critical role in lead generation, sales support, and market expansion, contributing to the organization’s growth and success.

Commercial (Onsite)

We seek a committed professional residing within the territory, driving to multiple accounts regionally. A valid driver’s license is essential, with 25% - 50% travel outside the territory, offering broader engagement opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
Customer Support
  • Provide real-time procedural assistance within the territory.
  • Offer technical troubleshooting support to ensure successful product use.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for physicians and surgical teams in the OR.
Customer Engagement & Communication
  • Act as a primary contact during procedures.
  • Ensure clear communication between customers and colleagues.
  • Report concerns and opportunities to the SAM.
Equipment Upgrades & Maintenance
  • Perform equipment and software upgrades.
  • Conduct fleet audits for optimal performance and compliance.
Training & Education
  • Lead in-service training for surgical staff.
  • Support Resident Labs, MedEd courses, RPEs, and CE programs.
Sales & Implementation Support
  • Assist with product trials, implementation, and conversions.
  • Support regional product adoption strategies.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain accurate surgical product tracking.
  • Ensure inventory levels meet needs.
Success Metrics
  • Achieve/exceed sales objectives through product utilization and engagement.
  • Secure and expand accounts via procedural support.
  • Generate and track leads in SFDC.
Product Portfolio
  • Stapling, Energy, Access & Instrumentation, OR Safety, Wound Closure, GYN & Hernia.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience.
  • Field-based role requiring 25% travel.
Nice to Have
  • Over 1 year of clinical OR experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Clinical or hospital experience.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, PowerPoint, MS Teams).
  • Results-driven, action-oriented, with the ability to demonstrate products.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight/weekends.
