Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner with state recognition.
• Prescriptive Authority for the state of work.
• Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license.
• CPR certification required.
• Nurse Practitioner Surgical Residency completion optional alternative.
• 1 year of clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides general surgical assistant services in operating room.
• Assists surgeon with prep and completion of procedures.
• Removes drains, tubes and catheters.
• Closes incisions.
• Assists with patient office visits and takes call when assigned.
• Performs charting, summaries, and billing documentation.
• Supports quality assurance and utilization management initiatives.
• Participates in post-operative care and wound assessments.
