Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington is seeking a full-time Nurse Navigator for the Surgery Department.

The Nurse Navigator will coordinate OR scheduling, revenue cycle and workflow in collaboration with the Surgery Manager and Director. Responsibilities include ensuring timely posting of procedures with correct CPT codes and prior authorizations, working with physicians, OR staff, and case management to maintain accurate patient status and real-time updates to reduce write-offs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with an active RN license in West Virginia.
• BSN preferred; certification in Field of Specialty within two years of employment.
• CNOR/CRNFA or Med/Surg Nursing certification for Endo Specialty if applicable.
• Minimum of five years operating room nursing experience.
• Knowledge of surgical terminology, equipment, materials, policies, sterilization, and OR attire; basic data collection and research exposure; demonstrates leadership and collaboration; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule OR procedures and oversee revenue cycle in coordination with Surgery Manager and Director.
• Ensure procedures are posted timely with correct CPT codes and prior authorizations.
• Collaborate with physicians, offices, OR staff, revenue cycle, pre-certification, and case management for accurate documentation and real-time updates.
• Manage the CWO report for the OR and assist with staffing as needed.
