Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Surgical Specialty - Non-Operative to provide direct patient care across adult and pediatric populations. This role involves prescriptive authority, credentialing, and collaboration with supervising physicians to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The Advanced Practice Provider prepares treatment plans, orders tests, and counsels patients about procedures, medications and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or compact state
• APRN licensure in Texas
• BLS within 30 days of hire
• Board-certified APRN for patient population focus

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical and mental condition and obtains histories.
• Orders and interprets labs and tests to guide care.
• Prescribes medications and treatments within scope of practice.
• Develops comprehensive treatment plans and collaborates with physicians.
• Counsels patients and families on care, medications and lifestyle.
• Maintains thorough treatment records and coordinates referrals.
• Provides consults within specialty scope and level of training.
• Manages patients in inpatient or other care settings as needed.
• Performs procedures delegated by supervising physician.
