Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Surgical Specialty - Non-Operative track to provide direct patient care across multiple surgical disciplines in Texas. The role emphasizes collaborative practice, evidence-based care, and cost-effective treatment planning in a hospital setting.

The Advanced Practice Provider will assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor patients, prescribe therapies, and advise patients and families while coordinating with supervising physicians

Qualifications

• Licensed, certified NP with Texas RN licensure and APRN status
• Proven ability to render direct patient care across surgical specialties
• Experience with scope of practice and collaboration with supervising physicians
• Strong documentation and care coordination abilities

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and medical histories for patients
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to guide care
• Prescribes medications and therapies per policy
• Develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans
• Counsels patients and families on disease management and medications
• Maintains patient records and coordinates referrals
• Provides consultation for specialty conditions
• Performs procedures within scope of practice
• Handles pre- and post-operative follow-ups and may round in hospital
