United Surgical Partners International (USPI) is hiring a Medical Assistant for St. Joseph's Surgery Center in Stockton, CA. The role involves patient intake, vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and supporting the care team with documentation and referrals.

You will work under the supervision of an RN, ensuring HIPAA-compliant data entry and excellent bedside manner for diverse patients and families.

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant or CNA program is preferred, but not required.
• CPR/BLS is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Prepares the patient for health care visits by directing and/or accompanying them to the bed and providing gowns and drapes.
• Verifies patient information by interviewing and recording medical history and confirming visit purpose.
• Reports concerns to the RN and documents chart revisions in the EMR.
• Performs vital signs and other basic health care services as applicable.
• Maintains cleanliness and stock in pre-op, PACU, and procedure rooms; supports department efficiency.
• Initiates referrals and insurance pre-authorizations as needed.
