Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Medical Assistant Certified to support patient examinations and procedures under physician supervision. The role involves assisting with diagnoses, treatments, and dressing changes, while performing essential administrative duties to ensure compliant care delivery.

The MA will schedule appointments, verify medical necessity, manage EMR documentation, and maintain patient privacy per CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA, and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic/outpatient setting or one year in the Novice-II position.
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and
• Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA or Registered Medical Assistant or EMT

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under supervision.
• Supports providers in administration of patient care in assigned areas.
• Schedules patient appointments and verifies eligibility for care as needed.
• Maintains patient records, documents care in EMR, and ensures privacy and compliance.
