Job summary

The Surgical Clinic (TSC) in Middle Tennessee seeks a Medical Assistant to support a multidisciplinary surgical team across general, vascular, vein, bariatric and oncology care. The role emphasizes clinical and administrative duties, patient communication, and coordination of care to ensure seamless treatment.

Qualified candidates have at least two years of MA experience, a CMA/RMA/CCMA or similar certification, and current BLS. Proficiency in EMR (eCW) and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years MA experience required.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with in-office procedures including lap band adjustments, wound care, drain management, and port care.
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients.
• Educate patients and families on bariatric and oncology care.
• Collaborate with surgeons and NPs on admissions, discharges and follow-ups.
• Support bariatric follow-up and lifestyle management with NPs.
• Coordinate with infusion centers and oncology departments to align care plans.
• Monitor and ensure MIPS requirements for providers.
• Other duties as assigned.
