Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• NYS RN license; ACLS, BLS. CCRN preferred.
• NE-BC required within 18 months of hire.
• Clinical expertise in Critical Care Nursing; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to standards of care and practice.
• Maintain the operational aspects of the unit by participating in budget preparation and monitoring resources.
• Manages nursing personnel including hiring, coaching and counseling, managing annual performance evaluations and competency reviews, and aiding in orientation/mentoring.
• Attend required management meetings and participate on departmental committees.
• Serve as a clinical and technical resource and role model for nursing personnel, physicians, and other departments.
