Job summary

Ascension is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the General Surgery team at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This day shift, full-time role emphasizes safe patient care, staff mentoring, and ongoing clinical improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• ACLS or BLS certification required within specified timeframes from hire date.
• At least 1 year of cumulative job-specific experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses daily patient care needs and assigns clinical tasks to ensure safe, population-appropriate care across shifts.
• Guides and mentors nursing and support staff to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and identifies opportunities to improve patient outcomes.
• Resolves patient care concerns through established channels to uphold quality standards.
• Contributes to hiring, onboarding and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing nursing team.
