Corewell Health Butterworth OR is seeking a Surgical Techhnologist First Assistant (STFA) to support advanced intraoperative activities in a busy level 1 trauma center. The role requires strong anatomy knowledge, OR experience, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You will work with DaVinci, Rosa, and Stealth robotic systems, under supervision, progressing toward independence as you complete STFA competencies. Day shift, full-time, with on-call weekends.

Qualifications

• Require Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent.
• STFA certification course completed with core curriculum for ST First Assistant.
• CSFA certification required; NBSTSA or equivalent upon hire.
• 3 years of relevant experience in a surgical services nursing department required.
• AHA/ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire required.
• CST certification required; NBSTSA/ABSA options upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Act intraoperatively to assist the surgeon with positioning, tissue handling, and wound closure.
• Assist with patient assessment, positioning, and intraoperative robotics as directed by the team.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, and surgical staff to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Work under supervision toward independence through STFA competencies.
