Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Surgical First Assistant for a travel assignment in Portland, OR. Under the supervision of a surgeon, you’ll aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other critical functions to help perform safe operations and support patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Minimum requirements include current Surgical First Assistant certification, CPR if applicable, and compliance with professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current Certification as a Surgical First Assistant in state practicing
• One year minimum experience in field preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Under the direct and immediate supervision of a surgeon, theSurgical First Assistant provides aid in exposure, hemostasis and othertechnical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation withoptimal results for the patient. Thesurgical first assistant plays a vital role in patient care and assistingsurgeons preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively.
