Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced equipment coordinator for Sterile Processing and surgical services. You will oversee advanced clinical equipment, manage inventory, and provide expert guidance on maintenance, lifecycle planning, and capital needs.

Collaborating with OR, Sterile Processing, Clinical Engineering/Biomed, Purchasing, vendors, and other departments, you will ensure equipment readiness, compliance, and cost-effective operation to support patient safety and operational

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in inventory management, healthcare materials management, medical/surgical equipment, sterile processing, operating room support, equipment management, purchasing, or a related field.
• Certification Preferred: CRCST OR CSPDT.
• Education: High School / GED required; Associate Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the subject matter expert for endoscopic and specialized clinical equipment, providing technical guidance to staff and clinical teams.
• Assesses equipment condition, utilization, performance, repair history, and replacement needs to ensure availability and operational readiness.
• Develops equipment lifecycle plans and recommends repairs, replacements, upgrades, and capital acquisitions.
• Coordinates preventive maintenance and monitors schedules, completion, and compliance.
• Evaluates new equipment and technologies, coordinates product trials and implementation, and supports process improvements.
