Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced Attending Physician/HPB Surgeon to lead the pancreatic and hepatobiliary program across the Baltimore region. This role focuses on advancement of multidisciplinary care, research, and education in HPB surgery.

Qualifications

• Board-certified/board-eligible surgeon with MD licensure.
• Fellowship trained in HPB/pancreatic surgery.
• Proven leadership in multidisciplinary care and research.
• Commitment to education and quality improvement in HPB surgery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and grow a program of HPB surgery across MedStar Health institutions in the Baltimore region.
• Perform pancreatic and HPB surgery while expanding the HPB program.
• Collaborate with gastroenterology, oncology, radiology and other specialties on innovative treatments for pancreatic cancer.
• Lead teaching efforts for fellows, residents, and students to establish a formal HPB curriculum.
• Drive clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies to advance HPB treatments.
• Develop and implement a quality assurance and performance improvement program across the system.
• Collaborate with leadership to set goals for program growth and align with cancer center initiatives.
• Support hospital and regulatory compliance tasks in coordination with the Chairman.
• Engage in initiatives to improve patient experience and outcomes in HPB surgery.
