Job summary

Dugan & Sweeney Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist during consultations and procedures, maintain patient care standards, and support the surgical team in a fast-paced dental surgery setting.

You will help with pre- and post-operative instructions, patient comfort, and instrument readiness while adhering to safety guidelines and confidentiality protocols. This position is on-site in Pittsburgh with potential for a signing bonus for qualified experience.

Qualifications

• Basic CPR Certification required.
• Oral and Maxillofacial Assisting/Dental Assistant Certification preferred.
• Hepatitis B Vaccination & TB Vaccination & Titer recommended.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Support: Assist the doctor during surgeries, seat patients, and take vitals.
• Patient Care Expert: Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions to patients.
• Compliance and Safety Adherence: Follow OSHA and regulatory guidelines, ensure radiation protection and proper imaging exposure.
• Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and charting per standards.
• Equipment and Instrument Maintenance: Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and instruments.
• Interpersonal Relations: Maintain good rapport with patients, doctors and team members.
• Confidentiality and Professionalism: Protect patient and clinic information, discuss confidential matters appropriately.
• Patient Experience Enhancement: Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction throughout visits.
• Adaptability and Flexibility: Accept special projects and adjust to changes in duties and schedules.
