Job summary

Jacksonville Dental Specialists in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Surgical Dental Assistant to provide hands-on patient care. Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:00–4:00, with a focus on setup, patient prep, and intra-operative support under doctor supervision.

You will take X-rays and CBCT imaging, manage impressions, and coordinate lab cases while maintaining high standards of sterilization and patient safety. Prior prosthodontics experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Surgical Assisting program.
• 2 years of Dental Assisting experience required.
• 3+ years surgical assisting preferred.
• Prosthodontics experience including bone grafting & implants.
• CPR, BLS, & First Aid Certified.
• Preferred experience with digital workflows, intraoral scanners, and implant planning software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatories for set-up, decontamination, sterilization, cleaning, restocking, and lab areas.
• Escort, communicate with, and prep patients for care by the doctor.
• Review treatment history and progress with patients.
• Monitor patients during IV sedation per state regulations and protocols.
• Take X-Rays, CBCT imaging, impressions, pours, and prepare study models.
• Record treatment information, schedule appointments, and provide post-op directions.
