Job summary

Advanced Dental of South Florida in Delray Beach is seeking a Surgical Dental Assistant to support the clinical team, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.

Applicants should have a 1-year certified dental assistant program or 6 months on-the-job experience, plus X-Ray certification. Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended; CPR, OSHA and HIPAA training are expected by law. Competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months on-the-job experience
• X-Ray certification is required; Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• CPR certification is preferred and ongoing training is expected by law

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency directory.
