Job description

Established, award-winning practice currently has an open need for a Surgical Assistant II / Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in Oral Surgery to join our oral surgery center team in Washington, DC 20036, with benefits starting immediately!

Base Pay Range

$23.52/hr - $27.78/hr

Schedule

Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri | 7:30am - 4:00pm (32 hours/week)

Tuesdays: admin days, may not require onsite presence

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Surgical / Dental Assistant License to work in Washington DC
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant program
• 1+ year experience as a dental or surgical assistant in an oral surgery setting
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Dental X-ray (Pano, PA, CBCT)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to provide excellent patient care under stressful circumstances

Surgical Roles

• Instrument cleaning following infection control protocols and autoclave operation
• Surgical tray setup and instrument identification
• Room setup and breakdown for IV anesthesia and surgery
• Patient seating, pre-op setup, chart review
• Nitrous oxide setup
• Proper restraint positioning
• Airway support for sedated patients and post-anesthesia monitoring
• Emergency procedures and equipment operation
• Preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment
• Providing excellent patient care
