Job summary

Drdenniswells in Newburgh, Indiana is seeking a Dental Assistant to work closely with our board-certified periodontist. Responsibilities include assisting during treatment, managing infection control, and educating patients on oral hygiene.

Qualifications

• Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments.

Compensation: $21-23/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures while helping patients feel comfortable
• Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Manage infection control by preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Provide patients with follow-up instructions following all dental treatment procedures
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
