AmeriVet in Tampa is seeking a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with a strong surgery and anesthesia focus. The role emphasizes managing surgical cases from admission through recovery and supporting a busy veterinary hospital with a wide range of procedures.

Qualifications

• CVT certification required or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Experience in surgery and anesthesia preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating Saturdays and holidays.
• Comfortable with venipuncture, IV placement, and radiology procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily surgical flow to keep procedures organized and safe.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist during procedures.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia while monitoring patient status.
• Assist veterinarians during routine and advanced surgeries.
• Perform dental prophylaxis, dental radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring for dental procedures.
• Maintain accurate anesthetic, surgical, and medical records.
• Prepare and maintain surgical suites, instruments, and sterile packs.
• Provide post-operative nursing care and pain assessments.
• Communicate discharge instructions and post-operative care to clients.
• Support hospitalized, urgent, and outpatient patients and aid hospital flow.
