Job summary

Texas Health Institute offers two Surgical Critical Care Fellowships for the 2026-2027 year. The program provides a rigorous, high-volume clinical experience within a closed surgical trauma ICU designed to train the next generation of leaders in surgical critical care.

You will work with multidisciplinary faculty committed to clinical mastery, education, and the training of future surgeons, while engaging in community outreach and translational quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Residency in General Surgery (or equivalent)
• Board eligibility in the primary surgical specialty
• Strong communication and collaboration in a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in a high-volume, closed surgical critical care ICU (trauma/emergency surgery).
• Engage in translational and clinical research focused on injury prevention, health equity, and quality improvement.
