Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Surgical Core Technician to support the operating room team with supplies, inventory control, and packaging integrity. The role emphasizes safe handling, on-the-job training, and effective collaboration with perioperative staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and use a full range of body motion throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
• Must be able to use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Preferred: Proven ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver supplies to operating room staff
• Maintain inventory and organize storage areas
• Inspects package integrity
• Use computer systems to track instruments and sterilization processes
• Dusting
• Outdating of supplies
• Frequently lift and carry 25 pounds, including performing work above shoulder level
