Surgical Care Technician - Evening Shifts

Monday-Friday 2:45PM-11:15PM

Primary Function / General Purpose of Position:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the clinical staff by performing a variety of support functions to facilitate the proper functioning of anesthesia equipment. This includes providing supplies and drugs to the OR rooms, preparing operating rooms for surgical procedures, and participating as a team member by performing additional assignments as needed.

Employment Qualifications:
  1. Work requires the knowledge generally acquired through a high school diploma or GED, including the ability to read, write, comprehend, follow oral and written instructions, perform mathematical calculations, and communicate effectively.
  2. Knowledge of basic medical terminology, use of equipment, basic instrumentation, aseptic techniques, and telephone communication, usually acquired through three months of on-the-job experience.
  3. Understanding of applicable department and hospital policies and procedures.
  4. Demonstrated competency as a PCT I for 6 months, completed training for PCT II, or meets criteria from previous work experience.
  5. CPR certification/recertification is required.
