Job summary

OrthoIllinois is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support the nursing and surgical team by providing basic medical and personal care to patients across Pre-Op, OR, and Post-Op stages.

You will assist with rooming, vital signs, specimen collection, and equipment setup, ensuring smooth patient flow, sterile technique, and readiness for the next case in a ambulatory surgery center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 year patient care experience required.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous surgical setting experience preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft and Google suites.
• Basic working knowledge of EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, perform vital signs and prepare surgical site.
• Assist in preparing operating rooms; check and record temperatures and ensure supplies are ready.
• Assist surgery staff to transport patient, move to surgical table, and position for surgery.
• Assist with connecting monitors and equipment as needed.
• Assist with sterile prepping of patient’s surgical limb/site and room turnovers.
