Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking an OR Support Assistant to provide ancillary support before and after surgeries. The role includes preparing equipment and supplies, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting with patient positioning during prepping.

You will help with case carts, room turnover, cleaning of operating rooms, corridors, and related areas, and transport waste and specimens as directed, under supervision and in accordance with policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and operating room supply handling.
• Ability to read and write English to identify patients and follow instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Gathers supplies for procedures and prepares equipment.
• Assembles and sets up non-complex equipment prior to surgery.
• Maintains cleaning and turnover of operating rooms and related areas.
• Transports waste, specimens, and equipment as directed by clinical staff.
• Assists nursing in patient care and positioning as needed.
