Job summary

AG7 is a 42-bed post-surgical unit within UPMC dedicated to high-quality care for adults and geriatric patients. The Professional Staff Nurse is an RN responsible for setting care standards and delivering nursing care with independence and collaboration.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, teaching, and ongoing participation in quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes and staff development.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid nursing license.
• Ability to apply nursing process with independent judgment.
• Strong communication and collaboration with physicians, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and families.
• Demonstrates leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision on the care team.
• Sets standards for level and quality of nursing care and provides patient care activities for a group of patients.
• Participates in unit-based governance, goal setting and quality improvement efforts.
• Ensures patient safety, quality and satisfaction through evidence-based practice.
