Join an integrated, nonprofit health care provider as a Surgical Care Assistant in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role involves providing essential support before and after surgeries, including patient preparation and care. The ideal candidate will hold BLS certification and have relevant experience in acute care settings.
Regions Hospital is looking for a Surgical Care Assistant (Nursing Assistant) to join our Surgical Services team.
Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse and Nurse Manager, the Nursing Assistant/Surgical Care Assistant helps prepare patients for surgery and assists them after surgery. The surgical care assistant will aide in the nursing care of newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients including the following tasks:
Required Qualifications:
BLS certification AND completion of a nursing assistant program
OR
Experience in an acute care or long-term care setting as a Nursing Assistant (6 months at a minimum of .5 FTE)
OR
Completion of one clinical rotation in an RN or LPN program within one year
OR
Experience as an Emergency Room Technician (6 months at a minimum of .5 FTE)
Please note: experience or nursing assistant education must have occurred within the last five years
Preferred Qualifications:
•Six months experience in a health care setting
