Job summary

Tampa General Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Auth Advocate to manage pre-authorizations and pre-determinations for surgical procedures across our Tampa locations. You will coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and payors to secure timely approvals.

The role requires 3–5 years in a medical office with prior authorization experience, solid CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, and comfort communicating with insurance companies.

Qualifications

• Three to five years in a medical office with authorization experience.
• Experience with pre-determinations for surgical or high-end procedures.
• Familiar with CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Experience with insurance payors and submitting authorization requests.

Responsibilities

Description

This position is responsible for obtaining Surgical Pre-Authorizations and/or Surgical Pre-Determinations for surgical procedures including injections and high end radiology for surgery providers in assigned locations.

Work Experience and Additional Information

Three (3) to five (5) years medical office experience to include prior authorization and experience with pre-determination for surgical or high-end procedures. Above average knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding. Experience with insurance payors and submitting authorization requests.
