Surgical Assistant - Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in surgical procedures as part of a team, under the supervision of a physician. Duties include providing exposure, assisting with hemostasis, skin closure, and other technical tasks. The role supports the department's and hospital's mission and goals.

Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of experience and/or completion of a Surgical Assistant program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Registered with the Virginia Board of Medicine and/or military-trained or certified. Registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine is required for new employees certified or trained in the military.
