Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 years college or specialty school in surgical assisting
• 4 years general experience with 2 years in any specialty area preferred
• Certification within 6 months of employment: NSAA, CFA, AA-C, or CRNFA

Responsibilities

• Position patient for optimal exposure; follow surgeon's orders during procedures
• Assist with hemostasis and closure using appropriate suture techniques
• Provide visualization of the operative field and protect patient safety
• Communicate plan of care and any changes to the surgical team
• Maintain professional rapport with physician, staff, and departments
• Participate in on-call duties and independent work as required
