Beacon Oral Specialists in Vallejo, CA is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join our growing practice. You will gain hands-on training and guidance to advance within the company while delivering attentive care to patients.

The role combines surgical assistance, instrument handling, and patient support with administrative duties such as scheduling and charting. Candidates should be highly organized, communicate clearly, and stay professional under pressure.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Infectious Disease Certification.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required, may be obtained after hire.
• Dental X-ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required, may be obtained after hire.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
• Professional appearance and attitude.

Responsabilidades

• Assist surgeon during consultations and treatments.
• Prepare and clean instruments per infection control protocols.
• Operate autoclave and maintain sterilization.
• Set up surgical trays and review charts.
• Assist with IV anesthesia setup and patient positioning.
• Take vital signs and greet patients.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and charting.

To be successful as an oral surgery assistant, you should be highly organized and attentive to patients' needs.

Surgical Responsibilities:

• Assist Surgeon during consultations and treatment.
• Proper instrument cleaning in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
• Autoclave operation and function.
• Surgical tray set-up.
• Identification of instruments used in the clinic.
• Room set up/break down for IV anesthesia and surgery.
• Seat patient and perform pre‑op set‑up.
• Review charts.
• Nitrous oxide set‑up.
• Properly positioning restraints.
• Support airway for sedated patients.
• Ability to circulate and retrieve instruments.
• Excellent patient care & communication.

Non‑Surgical Responsibilities:

• Restock supplies, forms, handouts, and rooms.
• Take vital signs.
• Familiar with all forms and handouts (procedure‑based, consent forms, etc.)
• Aware of and in compliance with OSHA requirements (e.g. personal protection)
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, filing, and charting.
• Make follow up phone calls to patients.
• May take X‑Rays.
• Properly closing and opening the office each day (Tanks, Suction, Xray)
• Greet patients and make them feel comfortable.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Infectious Disease Certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification required, may be able to obtain once hired.
• Dental X‑ray license (Pano, PA, CBCT) required, may be able to obtain once hired.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to provide excellent patient care, even under stressful circumstances.
• Consistent professionalism in appearance and attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification as a Surgical Assistant preferred.

Schedule:

• M, T, TH, FR 530AM-2PM. WED 7am-4pm. Sat 6am-1130am.

Special Requirements:

• Working in the office is an essential part of the job function.
• Must be able to stand up to 80% of the time at minimum.
• Physical requirements include driving, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time.
